Morgan wins award for TARCC Poster

The Bieniek lab had a great time attending the 2025 Texas Alzheimer’s Research & Care Consortium Scientific Symposium (aka our unofficial lab retreat) in Austin, TX. This year, we had four posters presented:

  • “P2RY12 as a regulator of microglial phenotypes and function in neurodegeneration” (Teni Adetona)

  • “Hispanic ancestry as a modifier of neuroinflammatory gene expression in single and mixed etiology dementia” (Elizabeth Ochoa)

  • “Regional sialylation patterns in cerebral amyloid angiopathy” (Caitlyn Fastenau - who also gave an oral presentation!)

  • “Python-based machine learning for three-dimensional human brain model segmentation and analysis” (Morgan Smith)

Of the 129 posters at TARCC this year, Morgan’s was one of a few selected for Best Poster Presentation at the conference.
